Elise Garton

PhD Student

Elise Garton is a PhD student in biomedical informatics. She has a bachelor’s in English and political science from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s in global health research from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She has worked in implementation and sales at Epic and in research and evaluation positions at the Netherlands Red Cross, National Cancer Institute’s Center for Global Health, and US Agency for International Development. She is excited to gain more sociotechnical research expertise through Dr. Butler’s lab and hopes to study and evaluate implementation of informatics tools to support cancer survivors, particularly in low-resource settings. When she’s not working, you can find Elise skiing or running in the Wasatch, trying to keep her growing collection of orchids alive, and agonizing over Notre Dame football.
